Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Usual (the app, its API, its agent connection and this website). By installing or using Usual, you agree to them.

The service

Usual lets Shopify stores sell and manage subscriptions. It runs on Shopify, so you also need a Shopify store and must follow Shopify's terms. Features may change as we improve the app; we'll give notice before removing anything you rely on.

Your account and your agents

You're responsible for who you give access to, including staff, API keys and AI agents you connect. Changes they make are made on your behalf. Usual previews changes, asks for your approval on larger ones and records everything so most changes can be undone, but you decide what to approve.

Your customers

You're responsible for your relationship with your customers: your prices, your products, your subscription terms, and meeting the laws that apply to selling subscriptions, such as clear terms and easy cancellation. Usual is built to help you do that, and cancelling is always available to your customers.

Pricing and billing

Plans are a flat monthly or yearly price based on your number of active subscribers, billed through Shopify. We never take a percentage of your revenue. If you grow past your plan, we'll ask you to move up; we won't stop charging your customers because of it. You can cancel any time by uninstalling the app.

Acceptable use

Don't use Usual to break the law, to mislead customers, to get around its security or limits, or to interfere with other stores using it.

Your data

Your store's data is yours. We use it only to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. When you uninstall, it's deleted 48 hours later.

Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Usual running and your renewals charging on time, but the service is provided as is, and we can't promise it will never be interrupted. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

We'll update the date above when these terms change, and tell you about significant changes in advance.
